When to See a Urologist

Immediate medical attention is necessary if you experience acute urinary retention (complete inability to urinate), blood in urine, severe pain during urination, or signs of kidney problems such as back pain with fever. These symptoms may indicate complications requiring urgent treatment.

You should consult a urologist if you notice progressive worsening of urinary symptoms, frequent night-time urination disrupting sleep, or any urinary symptoms affecting your daily activities and quality of life. Early evaluation helps as BPH symptoms can mimic other conditions including prostate cancer, bladder problems, or urinary tract infections.

During your first consultation, our urologist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation including medical history, symptom assessment using standardised questionnaires, physical examination and necessary diagnostic tests. This thorough approach ensures accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning.

Recovery And Aftercare

There are two main techniques for rhinoplasty procedures: Open & Closed rhinoplasty. Other types of rhinoplasty are named based on their approach and the objective of the procedure.

If you… Then you should…
First Week Post-Procedure The initial healing phase requires careful attention to hygiene and wound care. Pain is typically mild to moderate and well-controlled with prescribed medications. Swelling and bruising are normal and should gradually improve. The surgical dressing may need to be changed according to your surgeon’s instructions.
Activity Restrictions Most patients can return to work or school within 2-3 days for desk-based activities. Strenuous physical activities, sports, and heavy lifting should be avoided for 2-4 weeks. Adult patients should abstain from sexual activity for 4-6 weeks or as directed by their urologist.
Wound Care Instructions Keeping the surgical site clean and dry is crucial for proper healing. Specific instructions will be provided for bathing, dressing changes, and applying prescribed ointments.
Follow-Up Appointments Scheduled follow-up visits allow your urologist to monitor healing progress and address any concerns. The timing of these appointments varies based on the procedure type and individual healing response.
